WALDORF, Md. -
Police say a husband and wife in their 40s walking their dog were shot on a path behind Westlake High School in Waldorf Friday evening. The wife has died.
The shooting occurred around 7:15 p.m. at Hampshire Circle and Gopher Court.
Diane Richardson, spokesperson for Charles County Sheriff's Office, says the gunman shot the couple multiple times.
The couple were transported to the hospital where the wife was pronounced dead a short time later. The husband is in serious condition.
