
Floyd Lee Corkins IIA Virginia man has appeared court to face new charges in a shooting inside the headquarters of a conservative Christian lobbying group.
Floyd Lee Corkins II was charged in a new indictment this week with committing an act of terrorism and other offenses. Online court records show he entered a not-guilty plea to the charges he faces. He remains ordered held.
Corkins, who had volunteered at a community center for gay and lesbian people, is accused of shooting and wounding a security guard at the Family Research Council headquarters in downtown Washington. The guard helped take down Corkins, who authorities say was carrying ammunition and sandwiches from Chick-fil-A.
The organization staunchly opposes gay marriage and abortion rights.
