NEW YORK (AP) - The former director of the Albert Ellis Psychiatric Institute in Manhattan has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for embezzling $2.5 million.
Jeffrey Bernstein was sentenced Wednesday.
According to the Daily News, during the sentencing the current director, Dr. Kristene Doyle, tearfully detailed how Bernstein's action has threatened the hospital's future.
Bernstein was ordered to pay back all of the money.
