The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is rolling out subway countdown clocks for smartphones and computers.
The app, expected to be live by the end of the year, will be available for numbered-line riders and will provide real-time train arrival data, reported the NY Daily News.
The MTA is hoping the app will be the first of many that provide data on train arrival times in a free and open stream.
"It's like having a subway countdown clock right in your home or your pocket," Gene Russianoff of the Straphangers Campaign told the News.
