ATLANTA -

The man accused of hitting a female employee at a Dalton Steak-n-Shake has turned himself in. Officers say 66-year-old Larry Mitchell now faces a simple assault charge.

Investigators say Mitchell was captured in a surveillance photo at  the West Walnut Avenue restaurant last month. Police say he became irate over the service, and hit the manager in the face with a stack of papers.

Authorities say Mitchell saw his picture in media reports and decided to turn himself in.
