The South Korean couple nearly killed by a flying tire/rim assembly that broke off an 18-wheeler on the Schuylkill expressway Monday morning, are describing themselves as the "miracle family."
"It was a miserable experience," Kiwon Lee told Fox 29's Bruce Gordon.
Kiwon said he was driving his 7-months-pregnant partner Ahyeon Baek to an English language class before heading to work, when the tire/rim came out of nowhere near the Vare avenue exit.
The heavy object struck the passenger side hood of their 2006 Honda Civic, before rolling up and mashing the windshield right in front of his pregnant partner.
"At this moment, I was crying," said Baek. "I thought I could have died."
The windshield glass covered her body- even winding up in her mouth.
"The seat belt was tightened, so I felt the pain on my belly," Baek says. "So, I really worried about my baby."
The couple survived without a scratch, but Ahyeon was taken to the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to be checked out. All is well with their unborn son.
The couple's son is due January 17, 2013.
They say the rest of their extended families still live in South Korea, and they will not be telling them about their near-death experience.

You could use fancy mowers, trimmers and clippers to rid your property of tall grass, weeds and invasive plants. Or you could bring in a team of living, breathing "specialists."
