A 12-year-old girl told police that a man attempted to lure her while she waited in the car for her mother before running into a store Saturday afternoon.

The girl was waiting in a car for her mother outside a Dunkin' Donuts on River Road in New Milford around 1 p.m. when a man approached her and asked if she wanted to go with him. The 12-year-old told police she ran inside the Dunkin' Donuts to her mother.

The luring suspect fled the scene on foot, according to New Milford police.

Authorities have released a sketch of the possible suspect.

The girl said the person who attempted to lure her looked like the man in the sketch New Milford police released Thursday after two other reported luring attempts. The girl had seen the sketch before the incident.

This is the fourth luring attempt reported in New Milford since Thursday and, according to New Milford Police Chief Frank Papapietro, one of nearly a dozen incidents in North Jersey since mid-September.

No child has been abducted in any of the reported attempts and local and county police have increased patrols in the area.
