University students cautious as crime spikes

WASHINGTON, DC -

Police are investigating after two separate attacks near D.C. universities.

Police say a man was stabbed in the abdomen around 1a.m. Saturday along the 2600 Block of Georgia Avenue, steps from Howard University which is celebrating it's Homecoming Weekend. He was conscious when taken to the hospital. No word on any suspects or a motive.

Two Georgetown University students were assaulted inside their off-campus home around 3:45a.m. An alert from the school's Department of Public Safety describes the suspect as a 5-foot-10 21-year-old white male weighing about 160 pounds.
