ELLICOTT CITY, Md. -
Howard County Police arrested a Columbia man they say secretly set up a video camera to record two women without their knowledge in their Ellicott City home.
42-year-old Michael Stephen McKenny faces multiple counts of burglary, visual surveillance with prurient intent and videotaping a person in a private residence without consent.
Investigators believe the incidents began in June when McKenny, who knew the identities of both of the women, stole and copied the key to their condo.
Once he had the key, officers say he used it to enter the condo and set up a hidden video camera. McKenny then allegedly re-entered the home several times, moving the camera between the women's bedrooms and bathroom.
Officers were notified after the women discovered the concealed video camera and turned it over.
Police received numerous tips that led them to McKenny who was arrested without incident.
Police say during their review of the video, additional women appeared to have been recorded without their knowledge. Those women have been identified and notified of the investigation.
McKenny is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
