MYFOXNY.COM -

Surveillance video from a Jewish youth center in Brooklyn shows police beating a man who appears to be resisting arrest.

Cops were reportedly called to the center on Oct. 8 to remove a drunk man sleeping in the lounge.

The two-minute video, posted by CrownHeights.info, shows the man pushing the officer's hands away as the officer appears ready to handcuff him. The Daily News reports the man then punched the male officer.

The officer then punches the man in the face while a female police officer appears to pepper spray him and beat him with a baton.

Police tell FOX 5 News that the suspect allegedly threatened to fight with the officers if they arrested him. Once they arrived, the officers found the shirtless man in the womens section of the lounge.

The security guard at the Aliya Institute who called police to the New York Ave. center in Crown Heights told the Daily News that he regretted not letting the man sleep there.

The man had permission to be in the center's room, reported the Daily News.

The case is being reviewed by the Civilian Complaint Review Board.

The man is reportedly facing several charges including assaulting a police officer, trespassing, resisting arrest and harassment.

He was released on bail.
