Volunteers from around the city were in Brooklyn Saturday morning for the 21st annual New York Cares Day.

The participants came out to P.S. 12 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section to help clean up the school as part of the city-wide day of service.

P.S. 12 is one of 90 public schools across the city that was transformed Saturday.

The volunteers provided an estimated $1 million in services to the 90 schools all in an effort to help give kids a better environment to learn and play in.
