Firefighter Henry J. Magee was honored Friday with the 2012 "Firefighter of the Year Award."
PHILADELPHIA -
A 38-year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department was named the 2012 "Firefighter of the Year" Friday.
Firefighter Henry J. Magee received this year's award at the Fireman's Hall Museum.
Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers and Philadelphia Fire Department Historical Corporation president Rick Coppola were on-hand for the presentation.
As part of the award, Magee was given a commemorative Fireman's Hall Museum embedment, a lapel pin and various gifts from local businesses.
Organizers say Magee, who is the museum curator, received the award for his dedication in preserving the fire department's history.
