Search for gunmen in LI home invasion

Two gunmen held up a woman inside her bedroom in South Hempstead, Long Island, said police.

The robbers entered the house on May Street Thursday morning through an unlocked front door and found the 69-year-old woman in her bedroom.

One of the gunmen demanded money from the woman while the other ransacked the house taking cash, jewelry, electronics, cell phones and a landline phone, said police.

The men ran off when a family member arrived at the house. at about 11:50 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

Police say callers will remain anonymous.
