Astronomers say they have found a planet made largely of diamond.

The alien planet was discovered in 2004 around a nearby star in the Milky Way.

Scientists now say the rocky planet is composed mainly of carbon, in the form of diamond and graphite, as well as iron.

They estimate at least a third of the planet's mass is likely pure diamond.
