Surveillance video captured Deborah Cleveland's nightmare on East 9th street.
"I was stuck. I was overwhelmed," she exclaimed.
The video shows the 65-year-old Wilmington Delaware grandmother walking in front of her house on September 26th.
Unknowingly crossing the path of a pistol, packing punk while she and her grandchildren went outside to play.
"I thought that was going to be it. I just say the Lord saved us."
On the video you can see the muzzle of the gun flash at least two times.
Cleveland and her five-year-old granddaughter were within inches of the gunfire, forcing Cleveland to shield the helpless child.
"I pulled her towards me and my son threw my baby grandson on the porch."
The chaos started when a gray hoodie-wearing gunman in one group opens fire into a pack of teenagers.
It seemed like there was some kind of exchange with one of the guys behind him who appeared to be reaching for something in his pants.
Cleveland reported hearing four shots fired.
Despite the fact that so many children and people were around Wilmington Police say luckily no one was shot.
But the gunman's still on the run and police need your help getting the crook off the streets.
"This is definitely a brazen attack," explained Officer Mark Ivey. "This is a guy who clearly has no regard for people in this community."
While police were out patrolling Wilmington's East Side neighborhood... Cleveland watched them pass, counting her blessings, hoping parents will wake up.
"This crime starts from little kids not big kids. Little kids that are not loved and nurtured and cared about."
The gunman is facing aggravated assault and wreck less endangerment charges. If you have any information that could help police call Crimestoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or online at www.tipsubmit.com. You can also reach the confidential Wilmington Police line at 302-576-3990.
