FLAT ROCK, Mich. (WJBK) -

Chad Osborne has a restricted driver's license, he's not suppose to have passengers in the car, but he did and got busted. Police say that one mistake helped them solve a crime spree.

Just 7 years old Shawn Martin is already the victim of a crime. His family's home is one of several in the Deerfield Estate area of Flat Rock that has been broken into over the past few months. When asked what he would say to the man who took his toys Shawn said, "I'd say get out of our house, jerk!"

Shawn's mother Kim says the bad guy took her son's XBox 360, Connect, Wii and a few DVD players the kids had.

Police in Flat Rock say Chad Osborne is the person responsible for the recent home invasions. They say he knows the neighborhood well, because he lives here. In fact, he lives just there doors down from Kim and little Shawn.

Police are now charging Osborne wtih 19 counts and that could go higher. He is suspected of stealing everything from guns to electronics and even cash from young kids.

Osborne was pulled over Sunday by Flat Rock police for that driving offense. That's when they noticed items inside his car that are believed to have been stolen from a home in his neighborhood.

Osborne is being held on $280,000 bond and is scheduled to be back in court October 23rd.
