PHILADELPHIA -

A local family says a medical mistake at an area hospital has claimed the life of a 99-year-old grandmother.

The family of Estelle Krause alleges in a lawsuit that workers at Lankenau Medical Center were rushing during Krause's 2011 cancer treatment. That resulted in the massive head of a device known as a linear accelerator striking Krause in the pelvis.

Six months after the accident, Estelle Krause died.

Lankenau Medical Center declined comment.

In legal filings, the hospital's attorney writes the incident was an "isolated accident" and argues there was "no negligence or recklessness."

The Krause family says its goal is, in part, to press for reform of medical care which sometimes fails patients. The attorney representing the family says he is confident in saying "this never should have happened."

An armed deli robbery is caught on camera. Two brazen gunmen held up the store owner with the man's kids right nearby. It's scary enough having armed gunmen storm your business.
