MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. -

The Montgomery County District Attorney announced Wednesday the arrest of a man accused of illegally purchasing nine firearms and then giving them to the man who later killed a Plymouth Township Police Officer last month.

According to District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman, Michael J. Henry was arrested for the illegal "straw purchase" of the firearms. Investigators say one of the firearms was the Baretta 9mm semi-automatic used to kill Officer Bradley Fox.

Fox was killed on September 13 when he was chasing Andrew Thomas after he left the scene of a traffic accident.

After the shooting, Thomas committed suicide.

Investigators say they learned that the gun used by Thomas was purchased on May 30, 2012 and that it was registered to Henry.

Henry told investigators during an interview that he first met Thomas in April and that between April 10th and July 31st, he purchased a total of nine firearms for Thomas, including the weapon used in the shooting, the district attorney's office said.

According to investigators, the nine firearms included seven pistols and two rifles.

Henry is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

The district attorney says detectives are now searching for the other firearms that were purchased for Thomas.
