STUDY: Facebook more addicting than cigarettes, sex

Posted: Updated:

Can't get enough of Facebook or Twitter?

According to a study out of the University of Chicago, social media are more addicting than cigarettes and sex.

Participants couldn't last 30 minutes without checking Facebook or Twitter.

The study's lead author says people can become addicted to social media because it's free, readily accessible, and harder to turn down.
