The Top Costumes (Kids):

1. Superheroes - influenced by this year's major blockbuster hits, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight Rises, superheroes reign true as Halloween's biggest costume trend this year, especially with boys.

2. Flutter Fairies - this Halloween there is a strong desire for personalized costumes. In response, Halloween costume designers have fashioned customized head-to-toe looks from their thousands of accessories to create trendy and personalized costumes, such as the Bumble Bee Fairy and Lovebug Fairy.

3. Disney Princesses -- the classic characters are still winning hearts and topping the charts as favorite Halloween costumes this year.

4. Neon Monsters -- the popularity of the major neon trend inspired Party City costume designers to create a new neon monster line.

5. Monster High -- the biggest rage with older girls and the tween age group has got to be Mattel's Monster High. These costumes are perfect for girls who've outgrown Disney costumes but will want to dress like their favorite trendy characters.

The Top Costumes (Adults):
