Sungeun Grace Lee has decided she wants to stay on a ventilator and has ended a battle over her life with her own parents.

Her father, Reverend Man Ho Lee, withdrew his petition to be named her legal guardian. Instead, he was named his daughter's health proxy. He said he believes she will have a miraculous recovery.

Sungeun Grace Lee, 28, is currently at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island. Last year, the financial executive was diagnosed with a tumor on her brain stem

She was hospitalized last month after a seizure left her paralyzed from the neck down.

Lee had expressed a desire to be taken off a ventilator that is keeping her alive.

Her parents, who are devout Christians, lost two court decisions seeking to block her request to die.

She has since changed her mind and will remain on the ventilator, ending the legal dispute with her parents.

Grace Lee is now expected to be transferred to a nursing home. Should she become unable to make health decisions for herself, her father -- as her health proxy -- will make them for her.
