It was a tough sports weekend in these parts with the Braves season coming to a controversial end, Georgia Tech firing defensive coordinator Al Groh after losing to Clemson, and the Georgia Bulldogs worst ever defeat at the hands of South Carolina. But perhaps even more disturbing was the reaction of some fans.
South Carolina beat Georgia 35-7 on Saturday night in Columbia, That was bad enough, but it got worse for a couple of players, when they returned home linebacker Christian Robinson and quarterback Aaron Murray found their house had been vandalized.
Robinson said on Twitter, "Seems that people turn on you when you're not perfect. Thought we were in this together."
For Murray, who also found out on Sunday that his father has cancer, he tweeted, "Probably the worst 12 hours of my life, but I know my family will push through. Keep my dad in your prayers please."
Former Georgia quarterback, and co-host of the "Buck and Kincade Show" on sports radio 680 the Fan, Buck Belue talked with Good Day Atlanta on Tuesday about the rough weekend.
