A coach who works with Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls was stabbed to death in a neighborhood in New York City, police said.
According to the New York Post, 25-year-old Michael Jones of West Harrison was found on 14th Street near 5th Avenue in the city's West Village neighborhood just before 4:30 a.m. with multiple stab wounds to the head, neck and chest.
The New York Post says Jones was visiting a friend in the neighborhood until midnight when they parted.
According to the report, police investigators recovered a severed ear at the scene of the stabbing.
Rain arrives for the second half of the work week. Another fall-like blast of cool weather to follow for the weekend.
Scattered showers are possible tonight as a cold front approaches the area. Otherwise, the best chance for rain will be Thursday afternoon and night where we'll see on and off showers and thunderstorms.
Clouds and showers linger though much of Friday. We may still see a passing shower Saturday. Unseasonably cool air returns this weekend where both days only see high temps in the mid 70s with many of us falling into the 50s at night.
