A new scholarship will bare the name of a Philadelphia Police Officer taken too soon.

Officer Moses Walker, Jr. was murdered in August as he was heading home from work.

On Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Kevin Bethel and members of Walker's family announced a scholarship fund for children going to college.

The scholarship will benefit single-parent students in the city's ACHIEVEability program who have a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
