The National Zoo has been keeping an extra-close eye on giant panda Mei Xiang since the loss of her cub last month.
Zookeepers say she is getting back to her regular routine and over the weekend, she went into her outdoor enclosure.
It was the first time Mei Xiang went out since her cub died.
She still spends most of her afternoons alone in her den but her appetite is improving.
A portion of the giant panda habitat reopened over the weekend and the zoo hopes to reopen it fully, soon.
