PHILADELPHIA -

School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr. William Hite joined members of the Walnut Street Theatre Tuesday to announce its newest Adopt-A-School, Bache-Martin Elementary School.

Organizers say the program creates a special multi-year partnership with a K-8 Philadelphia Center City public school.

Tuesday's event marked the beginning of the partnership, complete with a banner unveiling and speeches from theatre staff members and the school's principal, Yvette G. Duperon.

Bache-Martin was selected from a group of 20 applicants. Organizers say it's the school's third time applying for the partnership.
