The Philadelphia Water Department is working on a 'rusty' water issue in the University City section of the city.
PWD says that some properties resulted after some maintenance work in the distribution system in University City. Crews are currently working on the issue and taking samples of the water, as well as flushing hydrants.
Customers are encouraged to limit their use of water until the issue is resolved. Though it is not a health issue, the water does not taste good.
The Water Department can be contacted at 215-685-6300 if customers have any questions about the situation.
After a one-two punch of snowstorms, we're left with bitter cold. Even with plenty of sunshine today, look for highs only around 30-degrees. West winds 5-10 mph with feels like temperatures in the teens. Bundle up and watch for icy patches on roads and sidewalks.
The cold stays with us for a few more days.
Then, we start tracking another potentially messy wnitry storm, set to arrive on Saturday.
