A rivalry between two high school football teams in Gwinnett County may have gone too far this past Friday. Band members at one of the schools say their instruments were damaged by students from the competing campus.
Friday night was the 30th time Brookwood High School met Parkview High School on the football field. Some students are angry about the outcome from the meeting of the two Gwinnett County teams, but it has nothing to do with the score.
Members of the Brookwood High School marching band tells FOX 5 News that they believe students sitting in Parkview's senior section came over to where they were in the stands. They allegedly poured soda and other food items on several instruments while members of the band were taking a break following their halftime performance.
Band members and many of their parents say they worked into the early morning hours cleaning up the mess.
FOX 5 reached out to leaders in the Gwinnett County School District about the alleged incident, but they have not yet responded to the inquiries.
Band members say they are supposed to compete in the next few weeks and hope all their instruments will be repaired by then.
