A moving ceremony took place today at joint base Mcguire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey to honor one of our bravest.
Air Force Staff Sergeant Brian Williams is finally home. His long journey home was filled with obstacles that he faced head on.
Back in April Sergeant Williams was in southern Afghanistan. He was seriously injured by an improvised explosive device. He lost hi left leg. Shrapnel punctuated his body. He lost teeth.
But, he was alive. He knew he had to fight back - to live.
Today, Brian was awarded the Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and the Combat Action Medal.
Three medals for an Air Force Sergeant who gave us all so much.
Brian also reunited with his military dog, who was unharmed in the explosion.
Brian also took this opportunity to thank his loved ones, whose support helped him on his road to recovery.
Brian declared today that he's not done, that losing a leg will not keep him from fighting for all of our freedoms.
Staff Sergeant Williams will continue his recovery at the Walter reed medical center in Maryland.
We all need to stop and take moment to thank Sergeant Brian Williams.
