Teens Record Savage Beating of Chester Woman

Posted: Updated:

A graphic and savage beating captured on a cell phone and recorded by the perpetrators Tuesday night. Six high school age girls walk up to a 48-year old woman sitting on her door step and beat her. They dragged her inside the house where the attack continued. They even used a chair to hit her. Police say the woman is mentally challenged and didn't report the attack.

"I got up this morning and saw her door is still wide open," said Leonard Worby who lives upstairs from the victim. He says he noticed some injuries on her Wednesday but wasn't home when it happened.

"She had cuts on her face plus it was all puffy," said Worby.

Police say the teen suspects put the beating video on FaceBook. Someone saw it and immediately called them. That's how they were able to track down the victim.  Police Commissioner James Bail said, "That's one of the more horrific, savage attacks that I've seen."  Police also have surveillance video from a store next door to the woman's house. Dorothy Williams lives a few doors down and is shocked.

"They shouldn't have did that," said Williams.

Police say the victim met the girls before and didn't expect them to come back and attack her.

"She said she actually gave these girls candy or bubble gum prior to the assault so there was no rhyme or reason to this arbitrary random vicious attack," said Commissioner Bail.

Neighbors say the victim is often outside, walking around, cursing at people going by likely because of the mental condition police say she has. Still no one deserves anything like this so police say if you know anything call them.

Three of the suspects are in police custody. Chester Police are looking for the remaining three. They're believed to be highschoolers. Police say the District Attorney says they will be charged as adults.
