TROY, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police are searching for a man caught on surveillance video stealing hundreds of dollars worth of items from outside a gas station.

Rafi Elsha owns the BP station on the 1400 block of E. Maple Rd. He says the man twice in the last month has shown up in a minivan and pilfered goods that are commonly left outside of the station. The first time, he loaded up on firewood, windshield wiper fluid and ice.

"I was not sure if he was having a party the first time," said Elsha.

A few weeks later, the thief returned, but this time he skipped the ice and went right for the bundled firewood.

Elsha believes the thief may be stealing the goods to stock another gas station.

He's considered bringing the goods inside at night. But until the thief is caught, he's getting word by posting the surveillance video on YouTube, Facebook and right here on FOX 2.
