Teacher's Rahm-Nickelback picket signs create online buzz

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The CPS strike is over but there may be a new star from all the protests.

Mike Konkoleski, a first-year math instructor at Solorio Academy High School, caused a huge buzz online for his sign he carried while protesting.

The "Rahm Emanuel Likes Nickelback" message went viral on the first day of the protest, putting a national spotlight on Konkoleski.

Day 2 it was Creed.

By day 3, the mayor was a fan of Avril Lavigne.

Konkoleski said he hoped his signs showed his view - that the mayor was being uncool.

The rest of the mayor's alleged music favorites were Michael Bolton, Limp Bizkit, Milli Vanilli, Kenny G, and of course Celine Dion.
