More Veterans Turning To FOX 29 For Results

Posted: Updated:

After putting their lives on the line to serve our country, more veterans are turning to FOX 29 to get help with their benefits.

Vietnam War veteran Anthony Scarano contacted FOX 29's Claudia Gomez after he says he's battled the Veterans Affairs for help.

Scarano says he is still scarred from war and suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Three years ago, Scarano was diagnosed with lung cancer. After an operation to remove part of his lung, he applied to the VA for new benefits.

Scarano says he was still waiting for answers until FOX 29 got involved.

Claudia Gomez says after FOX 29 called the VA, Scarano received a phone call less than two hours later.

Scarano says the VA has agreed to give him a pension, with a check for $24,000.

The check is expected to arrive at his home in the next few days.
