WASHINGTON -

Former D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has done his best to stay out of the spotlight since he left office. In a rare television interview, Fenty told FOX 5, "Life is great."

Fenty says he is focused on his job as an attorney at a Dupont Circle law office and his efforts to improve education for children across the nation.

Fenty expressed concern about recent investigations into local politicians and campaigns.

"Anytime there is any type of investigation, citizens' ears are going to perk up. I'm a citizen, so I'll pay attention," said Fenty.

But Fenty wouldn't specifically mention anyone under investigation, including Mayor Vincent Gray.

"Clearly there have been some missteps, there have been some mistakes, there have been some things that shouldn't have happened in the past," Fenty said. "My hope is that those things remain in the past and everything gets back to normal and the city continues to improve."
