HAVANA -
The wife of a U.S. contractor arrested and imprisoned in Cuba in December 2009 has lost 105 pounds while in custody according to his Washington, D.C. wife.
Judy Gross tells FOX 5 her 63-year-old husband, Alan Gross, is very thin and suffering from arthritis and other ailments, and worries that he won't survive his prison sentence.
Gross was working as a subcontractor for a USAID-funded democracy building program when he was arrested at Havana's Jose Marti airport.
Gross claims he was trying to provide Internet service to Cuba's three small Jewish communities, but the Cuban government says he was part of a multi-million dollar U.S. program to undermine their government and was sentenced to 15 years.
The U.S. government has always maintained Gross is innocent and dismissed hints from Cuba that it would trade Cuban spies convicted of espionage in Florida for Alan Gross.
