From Sun Kissed To Skin Cancer: The Dangers Of Tanning Too Much

Posted: Updated:

We all know how to protect ourselves from the damaging rays from the sun, but sometimes, many of us are willing to break the rules even a little bit for the sake of a beautiful tan.

Debbie Mchugh, 48, is sharing her story with the hope of warning others of being irresponsible when it comes to tanning.

Mchugh has undergone biopsies and more than one surgery to remove cancerous lesions from her body. She says she used to go tanning three times a week for about 20 minutes.

Twenty-years later, she says she's chasing every freckle and mole, lathering on sunscreen and taking shade whenever possible.

You can watch Fox 29 reporter Joyce Evans' story in the video above. Some viewers may find the video to be graphic.
