
D.C. Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a victim at gunpoint at a church in Northwest D.C.
Police say the suspect entered the Saint Stevens Church in the 1500 block of Newton Street last Saturday at around 12:26 p.m. He demanded money and ordered the victim to the ground. The suspect went through the victim's pockets taking money, a wallet, an iPhone and other personal property.
The suspect also pointed a handgun at a second victim as she entered the room. The suspect then fled the church.
Police say the suspect is described as a black male, medium complexion, 18 to 20 years old, 5'9"-5'11" in height and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black mask (face-out), a striped polo style short sleeve, blue jeans and was armed with a black handgun.
Anyone with information that can assist in the identification of this subject is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
