MARTA reports that they are still having system-wide delays for purchases using debit and credit cards. That includes Breeze vending machines, the Ride store, and its online program.
ATLANTA -
MARTA says it's making progress with its Breeze card system. After four days of cash-only purchases, riders can now use credit cards. However, debit card problems persist.
The glitch affects Breeze vending machines, the Ride store and its online program. They say police have been sent to several stations to help with congestion caused by the problem.
MARTA officials said on Monday that customers who have Breeze cards with fare products already loaded on the card will not experience delays.
"We're working diligently with our vendor, Cubic, and we are ascertaining where we are, what the problem is and how we can rectify the problem," said Ryland Needom McClendon of MARTA.
Customers said they were annoyed by the problem.
"They need to fix it in a hurry. It's inconveniencing a lot of people," said one woman.
Officials say this problem started because of a conflict with software that was installed to protect customer information.
MARTA says they have been working since the Labor Day weekend to correct the problem. There is no word when the problem will be fixed.
