Rev. Anthony Williams to run against Jesse Jackson Jr. for 2nd district

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A well known minister is running for Congress against Jesse Jackson Jr. in November.

Reverend Anthony Williams will announce his candidacy for the 2nd congressional district Monday afternoon.

Williams will make his announcement at 79th and Essex where nine young people were randomly shot.

Jackson Jr. has been on a medical leave of absence since June. He is being treated at the Mayo Clinic for depression.

Williams said 2nd congressional district can no longer afford to have an absentee congressman.
