Philly Set For 'Made In America' Music FestivalMore>>
Tens of thousands are expected to pack the Ben Franklin Parkway for the two-day "Made in America" music festival.
FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson has been out there all day keeping an eye on the crews. She was live along the parkway Friday night watching crews listening to soundchecks.
The city said there are sound barriers. Neighbors have already been complaining it's too loud.
But the show must go on, and it will.
"I'm trying to figure out who is playing. I want to hear something that I know," said Greg Dewar, biking by the event area for the Made In America 2-day concert on the Parkway.
"I've been watching the set up all week it's been pretty cool," said Jennifer Moore who works nearby. But Friday evening people got to see more than just the set up. They got somewhat of a sneak peek from one of the main stages where curator Jay-Z will headline the mega show in front of the Art Museum.
"We're just watching the sound check and watching Jay's band," said Steven Harris and Jennifer McKay. They came down from New York. They were standing with a crowd of people watching with wide eyes and excitement.
McKay said, "You see how it's born. So then when you see it come to life it's like wow I saw what it was before so that's pretty cool."
Tents and vendors are set up too.
"We're a mobile food vendor. We'll be vending here with our pizza," Jona Fliegelman.
While there's sure to be plenty of food and drinks throughout the event area, the long list of mega stars set to perform is no doubt what people will be watching most for. That includes Priya Patel, visiting from Chicago.
"Oh gosh it's going to be crazy. Drake and Jay-Z performing, I don't' think it gets any crazier than that."
The concert is Saturday and Sunday from 2pm until 11pm. The Parkway and Eakins Oval will be closed through Monday.
