DETROIT (MyFox Detroit) -

A dangerous building in Detroit that used to house a windshield repair shop came crashing down Thursday after the Fox 2 Problem Solvers went to work.

To Lynn Keezer and so many who walk a busy stretch of Grand River near Steel in Detroit, the sound of construction was "awesome".

Keezer runs the auto repair shop next door to where a building with a hole in it used to stand.  It was left leaning for months after a car crash back in May.  Old glass windshields on the top floor were teetering dangerously close to the edge.

Keezer called Fox 2 and in less than a week the building was torn down.

"DMC Construction is the best in the world.  They walked me through the process, made sure everybody was safe during the demo, and it's awesome," she said.  "All the danger is gone.  The windshields just came down, which was an awesome sight.  Now nobody will get hurt."

The building was owned by the City of Detroit.  Orange barrels didn't stop people from walking too close to it.  Keezer worried someone would get seriously hurt or even killed, but she doesn't have to worry about that anymore.

"Thank you Fox 2.  Thanks Ron Savage.  Thank you all because now one hazard is gone from the city."
