Consumers furious over high gas prices

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Metro area gas prices have skyrocketed in the last few days due to Hurricane Isaac, and those steep increases have some consumers expressing anger.

The frustration comes while prices increase at the pump, but oil prices abroad have fallen.

Robert McFarland was filling up his vehicle at a gas station on Sydney Marcus Boulevard. He says it is a waste of time to be upset about the rising gas prices but he makes it clear he is not happy with it.

"It's not going to change it. It's not going to make it get any different. It's like being pregnant. If you're pregnant, you're pregnant. You got no choice in the matter until it's all over with," said McFarland.

FOX 5 viewers have reported prices at the pump jumping as high as 40 cents in the last three days, bringing a gallon of gas into the $4.00 range.

Motorist Byron Kingsbury told FOX 5 the rising gas prices have made him furious.

This isn't the first time prices have been in the $4.00 range. Four months ago, the area saw $4.00 a gallon prices, as well as four years before that.

Oil analysts say the price of oil and gasoline is dropping, so they expect prices will stay constant for the next few days before the prices begin to fall at the pump.
