A seven year old girl was seriously hurt in an accident on Middlebrook Road at Interstate 270 in Germantown Sunday.
Police say it happened at about 6:40 p.m.
When first responders got to the scene, they found a single car smashed into a utility pole.
An adult female in the car was hurt and taken to the hospital by ambulance. A little girl, believed to be seven years old, was airlifted to Children's hospital with much more serious injuries.
Police had to shutdown Middlebrook Road for nearly two hours so accident reconstructors could gather evidence.
Officers haven't released any names yet. They did say however, that it does not appear the child was wearing a seat belt.
