Atlanta feels the brunt of any Atlantic storm in both response efforts and in travel.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is coordinating its response efforts for Isaac from Atlanta. Sunday evening, they were at a Level 2 activation which means not only do they have a nearly full staff at their command center, but they also are hosting several other Federal agencies to help coordinate.
FEMA says they already have teams on the ground in areas where Isaac could hit.
At Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, many flights to and from south Florida have already been canceled.
Airline officials say they are doing the same thing as FEMA right now. They are watching the storm track and preparing for the worst.
Passengers can also check Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport for flight delays and cancellations by going to atlanta-airport.com.
None of the airports in the storm's path have announced closures as of Sunday evening.
Ruben Brown with the Atlanta Red Cross says a thousand volunteers are in Florida to assist with Tropical Storm Isaac. He they are prepared to move with the storm.
According to Brown, they do not expect to be deployed to hard-hit areas until after the storm passes.
