GAINESVILLE, Ga. -

Gainesville and Hall County authorities say the body found in a rough wooded area near Lake Lanier is that of a missing 16-year-old girl.

Hannah Truelove was reported missing by her mother, according to Major Woodrow Tripp of the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say a neighbor found the body in a wooded area behind the Lake Lanier Club apartments on Dawsonville Highway near the shore of Lake Lanier.  He called police.

Authorities called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist in the investigation as they continue to talk to family members to confirm if it was Truelove's body they found.

An autopsy has been conducted, but police are not releasing the manner of death.

Foul play is suspected, police said.
