Abused dog seeks new home

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

An abused dog needs a home. If you can spend a lot of time hugging and loving him, then Stubby may be the perfect fit.

Judy Price, the founder of Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption, spotted Stubby at an animal control facility.

His thin body leads down to a roughed up tail that encompasses a horrible story.

Price said that it appeared that someone used a knife to cut through the dog's tail.

He was sad and obviously in pain, so she rushed him to a local veterinarian for some tender loving care.

"I just felt very bad for the condition of the dog and the fact that he'd been there for four days with no medical condition," said Price.

After emergency surgery, he was left with a stub for a tail.

"It's a sad example of what people did to a dog," said Price.

Now Stubby is on his way to being just playful and curious again.

"He's a sweet little guy and in spite of how painful this kind of an injury is, he dances and prances in the cage," said Price.

After a few rough months, Stubby looks forward to taking it easy at a brand new home.
