One of the most talked about races on Tuesday is for Clayton County sheriff. Sheriff Kem Kimbrough is in a runoff with former Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill.
Kimbrough captured 42 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary, with Hill finishing a close second with 37 percent.
Hill is trying to regain an office he once held as he faces an indictment earlier this year on felony charges, for alleged wrongdoing during his time as sheriff. He denies those accusations and claims Kimbrough is behind the charges. But Kimbrough says a special prosecutor outside Clayton County worked the case.
Hill has not been convicted but his law enforcement certification has been suspended. If he wins, the governor could suspend him from office and appoint an interim sheriff.
Hill chose not to talk to FOX 5 on Tuesday, but Kimbrough said he felt confident as voters headed to the polls.
