The Michigan Lottery says a ticket matching all six Powerball numbers was sold in Lapeer, Mich.
LAPEER, Mich. (WJBK) -
Someone in Michigan is waking up a millionaire this morning after the winning ticket in the $337 million Powerball drawing was sold in Lapeer.
The winning numbers in the Wednesday night drawing were 6, 27, 46, 51, 56 and Powerball 21.
The Michigan Lottery says the ticket was sold at a Sunoco gas station in Lapeer, about 45 miles north of Detroit. There was no immediate word about the identity of the buyer.
"A friend that plays all the time, I called her this morning to see if she maybe won so we wouldn't have to go to work, but she didn't win," said Jen Watkins.
FOX 2's Amy Andrews tried to talk to the owners of the station, but they declined comment on camera. She reports they will receive a $50,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
"I'm so happy for whoever won," said Lapeer resident Deborah Matthews. "I think it's so amazing. What a blessing."
Andrews say if the winner chose the lump sum payment, he or she will walk away with $241 million.
In addition to the jackpot-winning ticket, there were eight tickets that matched five of the winning numbers to win $1 million. Two of those tickets were sold in Indiana. The others were sold in Kansas, Kentucky, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
There was also a ticket sold in Nebraska that added the Power Play to win $2 million.
