Gov. Martin O'Malley signs measure expanding Md. gambling

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -

Gov. Martin O'Malley has signed a measure to allow table games like roulette at casinos and a gambling venue in Prince George's County.

The governor signed the bill Wednesday, hours after a special session ended after midnight.

O'Malley, a Democrat, says the second special session of the year has created a comprehensive solution to a number of issues that were affecting Maryland's gaming industry and its ability to compete with surrounding states.

O'Malley also noted at the bill signing in Annapolis that voters will have the final say in November on whether to expand gambling.
