Making your child's lunch for the first day back to school?  Chew on this: A new study is revealing the five worst things you can put in your child's lunchbox.

The Redbook magazine study says you should avoid these five items—or revamp them to make them a little more healthy for your child:

1) Fruit snacks (the packaged kind)
ALTERNATIVE: Fresh fruit or raisins

2) Packaged desserts (think Twinkies or Ho-Hos)

ALTERNATIVE: Make something from scratch or skip it

3)  Juice boxes

5) Lunch Meats
ALTERNATIVE: Preservative-free lunch meat and hot dogs
